Work should be more than just a place where people clock in, do the do, and drag themselves through the week. Flourishing at work is about helping people thrive, not just survive.
Human Flourishing
Flourishing is when a human being has achieved ‘the relative attainment of a state in which all aspects of a person’s life are good including the contexts in which that person lives’ - Harvard Flourishing Program - Tyler VanderWeele et al.
The Global Flourishing Study is taking the most pointed look at human flourishing yet — attempting to map the topography of the human spirit not unlike how science has cracked the DNA code. WFO believe understanding human flourishing can fundamentally change the way we live and how we interact.
Flourishing at work is reaching your full potential through the conditions and behaviors that enable optimal performance, fulfilment and growth.
You at work: happiness and job satisfaction.
You in life: in balance.
Your work environments: physically and culturally enabled.
Your colleagues: great relationships, fully engaged.
Your organization: well run, strong purpose, clear strategy.
Every organisation has the opportunity to be a human system that supports flourishing.
Flourishing Practitioner
There are people out there who are helping organisations to flourish. People who recognise the benefit of finding the balance between employee needs and strategic direction.
They are either independent 'consultants' engaged to do this work, or internal change-makers leading the program from within (for example: People and Culture, Organisational Design, Organisational Change Manager or Leader.)
We recognise these professionals, and equip them with the skillset, mindset and toolset to create flourishing teams, business units and organisations. We support these practitioners to create positive work environments, drive engagement, and support individual and organisational well-being. To identify, support and/or lead activities to transform organisations from their current state to a state of flourishing.
